Classes 6th, 7th and 8th of The Study School visited a gym to learn about fitness and health. CBSE has been emphasizing on increasing physical activities and reducing obesity that has crept in the youth today due to frequent consumption of fast food.
The gym instructor Harish showed the students various machines and weight training equipment kept in the gym. He gave the demonstration of machines including treadmill, elliptical and stationary cycles that help improve the cardio-vascular system.
Students also tried exercise on equipment. For the students, they were told that a combination of cardio and weight training is the key to fitness. However, special training can be designed for those who want.
Yogesh, regular gym enthusiast advised the students to inculcate a healthy diet as an important part of fitness routine and reduce the intake of fast food.
